Window Inserts
We have started to roll out our new product accessory, pre-cut windows in both N (1:160) and TT (1:120). Our H0 (1:87) vehicles are always shipped with windows already. Note that these windows are only available in 1:160, 1:120 and 1:87. Vehicles purchased in 1:148 / 1:152 will be supplied with 1:160 windows.
These plastic inserts are made from a 0.18mm thick material, and provide a beautiful way to make your vehicles look even better. The products that include pre-cut windows can be recognized by the yellow mark with windows logo.
Assembly Instructions:
- After painting, cut loose the correct window you wish to assemble. Depending on the vehicle, it might be benificial to start with the large front window, or with many smaller windows on the sides. You can use the other, unfilled windows to stick a toothpick through to adjust the window inserts during assembly.
- Check that no remainders of the attachement are still in place, and make sure that the cut is nice and clean.
- You can shape the windows in a curve by bending them over a pen, or a marker for TT scale. For very small windows it might still be easier and better looking to use Microscale Kristal Klear.
- Apply a matte, clear gloss around the window in the vehicle. Make sure that it is plenty, because the window insert will "fall" into the clear gloss and dry in place. You can best apply this clear coat with for example a toothpick. You can also use Microscale Kristal Klear for this, but a matte clear gloss gives better results.
- Position the window correctly using a toothpick. Now let the windows dry for a while, until they're secured firmly. You can also leave a driver or passenger window open to give the people some fresh air on a summerday, and create some lively variation at the same time!
